Ferment Del Norte's Eat Local Food Challenge

Hello All! Today is the first official start to the first annual FDN's Eat Local Food Challenge. FDN's 1st Annual Eat Local Challenge encourages the community to embrace the bounty of good, local food that is provided by our dedicated local farmers and producers and to learn about the positive impacts of going LOCAL! The Challenge takes place from the Harvest Moon to the Hunter's Moon (Oct 1-29, 2012). We invite all club members plus members of the community to join us in connecting and supporting our community.

Please join us tonight at 6pm for seaweed harvesting with Amy and Paul. We will meet at the spiral stairs on pebble beach on 3rd or 4th streets. There will be Q and A and discussion. There will also be some informational packets to take with you. Make your own salt substitute for the challenge! We will also be discussing upcoming events and other club topics related to the event.

We've created a Facebook page for the challenge. This could be a fun place to put up posts, recipes, ideas, etc. on your journey with going local. Remember that everyone is challenging themselves at different levels but all experiences are welcome.
